Aircraft Spins Uncontrollably into Palm Groves at Frequented Southern California Coast
A chopper soaring over a well-attended southern California beach abruptly started spinning wildly, ultimately dropping height and crashing into a cluster of palm fronds as spectators watched.
Videos uploaded on the internet capture the helicopter beginning to twirl above the shoreline then descending towards the perimeter of the shore, where it becomes wedged among palm groves and a staircase adjacent to the coastal road.
Rescue Operation Details
Emergency responders said five people were transported to a medical facility involving a pair who were in the helicopter and were “extracted safely from the crash site” subsequent to the accident on that day.
Three persons on the street were hurt. Specifics on their condition were not immediately available.
The reason for the accident was still under investigation.
